Xavier Cables is proud to announce a working partnership with Hydro Angels Over America. Jason Bringhurst, President of Professional Cable/Xavier Cables said, “Hydro Angels Over America does a great deal of work for ‪#‎hydrocephalus‬ support and awareness. As a company, we have been supporting their charity, but it was time to see what more we could be doing together to raise awareness and ultimately find a cure for hydrocephalus.”  Some Xavier products can now be found on their store site along with some other fabulous products that help support their program.  We’ll be doing more events together throughout the year.

– Xavier Professional Cable Partners with
Hydro Angels Over America for “Cables with Cause”

(Question) What is your company history, location, nuts and bolts of your products and services?

(Answer) Professional Cable was started in 2007 out of my garage in Highland, Utah. We started by supplying home theater installers and contractors. We quickly grew out of my garage and moved into an office & warehouse. We’ve moved three times since then, every time into a larger office and warehouse space. In addition to being a cable supply house in Orem, Utah for contractors and IT Managers, we now offer a full range of retail packaged cables, adapters, and chargers for computers, servers, TVs, electronics, tablets, and phones. We ship all over the United States and soon to Canada.

(Questions) Why did you start this amazing hydrocephalus awareness effort?

(Answer) In Feb. 2012, our son Xavier was born 3 months premature. As part of the complications of a brain bleed, which is common among premature children born this early, he developed hydrocephalus. He was in the NICU for 4 months at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake. Throughout the past 3 years, he has had 8 hydrocephalus-related brain surgeries and now has not one, but two shunts to regulate the cerebral-spinal fluid in his brain from creating too much pressure and causing brain damage. They work like little pressure valves. When the pressure builds, the valve opens and drains the fluid out of the brain into the abdomen through an internal catheter. I had never heard of hydrocephalus before Xavier’s birth. I tried to learn as much as I could and eventually saw that there was not a lot of corporate sponsorship promoting awareness and research to find a cure. I decided that in some small way, I was going to help. We decided to re-brand our retail packaged cables from “Professional Cable” to “Xavier”, in honor of Xavier my son and to donate a portion of the proceeds to hydrocephalus awareness & research to find a cure. You’ll note right on the packaging is the national hydrocephalus awareness ribbon, which that alone hopefully raises some awareness.

(Question) What is something you want people to know about you and your family?

(Answer) I am a business owner, but foremost I’m a family man. Family is more important than anything to me. I have now been married 20 years to someone who is a wonderful mother and wife. We have six children. We love spending time together. My time with them is worth more than all the treasures on earth. I’m richly blessed. Xavier is our youngest child. As a parent, it’s heart-breaking to watch your child, especially a tiny baby suffer in pain while you feel helpless. You’d trade spots with them in a second if you could. We had never experienced the NICU with any of our other children. Their deliveries were fairly normal. They are all healthy. We had never experienced the stress, worry, and heartache of having children with medical problems. Spending four months in the NICU is a humbling experience. You see so many children struggling to hold on to life. You see so many good nurses and doctors doing everything we know how to do with modern medicine, to help them to live. Although we have had incredible medical advances in many areas, treating hydrocephalus still seems behind in many ways. Through Xavier’s many surgeries, I have had one reoccurring thought, and that is, “There has got to be a better way.”

(Question) What are your hopes of this partnership with Hydro Angels Over America?

(Answer) With every cable we sell, we hope to do a little good in advancing research and awareness for hydrocephalus. We call it, “cables with cause”. We want to help find a cure. We respect the work that Sheri Burdine and Hydro Angles Over America is doing and want to partner with those who have the same goals as we do. We all want to find a cure.- Jason Bringhurst, business owner, Hydro Dad.
